Waiver is a jointly funded Federal and State Government Program that pays for nursing home level of care in the home. It does follow the same Clinical and Financial rules as if you were applying for medical assistance in the nursing home with two exceptions:
It is an income based program.
Waiver does not provide 24-hour care. The Area Agency on Aging (AAA) and Maximus will come out and make a determination on the level of care someone receives.
